Keynote Speaker

Dr. Johnny Parker

As an executive coach and relationship architect, Dr. Johnny Parker helps men and women achieve success by viewing their lives as a story. Through his “Turn the Page” system, CEOs, pro athletes, coaches, and other high-impact men and women have gained high-definition clarity and discovered the story they were born to live. Johnny is an adjunct professor at Johns Hopkins University where he teaches Introduction to Positive Psychology, an evidence-based approach that focuses on conditions leading to happiness and flourishing.

Recognizing that families and organizations share similar relational dynamics, Johnny uses his clinical background and research in positive psychology to help people revolutionize their relationships, work and lives. His work on developing healthy, fulfilling lives and strong relationships has been featured on CNN International and national media outlets.

In May, 2008, Johnny was a part of a select group of marriage educators and researchers invited to the White House to discuss ways to strengthen marriages in America.

He has authored several books, including Turn the Page: Unlocking the Story Within You, Exceptional Living: 31 Exercises for Enriching Your Life, Work and Relationships, Renovating Your Marriage Room by Room and Faith Like a Child. Johnny earned a M.A. in Counseling Psychology and a Doctorate in Strategic Leadership from Regent University.

He and his bride, Lezlyn, reside outside Washington, D.C., and love hanging out with their three sons, JP, Jordan and Joel and their energetic Cocker Spaniel, Jay-Jay.

Rex Tignor

Rex Tignor will close out the conference. Rex will challenge you with take-aways that will enourage you in your spiritual growth as you head back home and to your respective churches.

Rex is the author of Living Out of the Rut, Boot Camp for Men, Just Show UP!, and co-author of Be Intentional: Devotional Conversation Starters for Men. While serving as eastern director for People Matter Ministries, he co-authored Why Minister to Men with Dr. Dan Erickson. Rex is a former member of the leadership team and Men’s Ministry training director for the Washington Area Coalition of Men’s Ministries. He also served as Men’s Ministry director for Redemption Ministries in Virginia, assisting more than 70 churches. He now serves as the Iron Shaprens Iron National Network as the Training Coordinator.

I thoroughly enjoyed my day with you all. It was the first event I have attended and am looking forward to more. I loved the worship, preaching, and breakout sessions and felt a sense of “wanting to do better,” for my Lord, my family, and my church. Attending the event truly made me want to be a better man! I told our church about how much I enjoyed it and am hoping to bring more men next time. I appreciate your heart and willingness to serve and will be in prayer for you and the ministry.

WORK: More Than a 4 Letter Word

Men have always had a tendency to identify themselves by what they do (their work), and not by who they are (their relationships). Men, you are not what you do. Still, what you do in your work does matter. Does your work define who you are? Are you having an impact in this arena of your life?

When encountering conflict in our life there are some things we need to recognize immediately as conflicts arise. This discussion will talk about how we can cope with conflict and how when we miss grace, we can allow bitterness to grow and conflict to take over.

How to Grow as a Believer

Getting older is guarantied  – growing spiritually is not.  We want to believe growth is automatic – kind of like a baby who naturally grows.  However, even with a baby it requires consistent feeding and care in order for it to mature in a healthy manner.   You will leave this session with a very small handful of items to focus on one day at a time.

Leading Men – how are they different?

“Leaders do not and cannot force people to follow them, they lead them on a journey”   Why does leading men in your church matter?   When a man comes to faith in Christ, 93% of the time his family will join him.   The return is high when we intentionally bring men to faith!!

The Mess of Being a Lukewarm Man

Many Christian men today are exhausted, feeling defeated, discouraged, and lonely. Why? We might attend church weekly, possibly even belong to a small group. But too often, we try to live for both the world’s vision of “success” and God’s definition of “significance” and inwardly we’re a mess. Jesus calls this being a lukewarm Christian. It’s exhausting…and discouraging. In this session we’ll follow the model of the early Christ followers and focus on the fundamentals of dying to self and living for Christ fully, completely…and imperfectly.

Embrace Your Struggle!

Pain and struggle are real for Christian men. Divorce or a marriage in peril. Financial woe. A wayward child. A hidden sin. Depression. Or fill in the blank…we all carry our own struggles. All too often we feel as though we can’t show our weak or share our pain as it’s unbecoming as a man. But God tells us differently. He will often allow our struggle to make us more like Christ…if we embrace Him.

Your Marriage Mindset – Why You Do What You Do

A great relationship or a failed relationship is not a matter of luck or chance. It is always the result of something else. Something that leads up to it. Something you do. This breakout session will show how our attitudes or mindsets in our marriages will affect how we feel about it, which influences how we’ll act or behave and determines whether we will do well or not.

Loss, Grief, And The Death Of Dreams

We like to talk about the wins, celebrate them, and share them in conversations and on our social media platforms. But we rarely talk about the pain, suffering, frustration, grief, or loss constantly happening behind the scenes. We try to bottle it up, stuff it way down, put on the armor, and go out in the world pretending we have it all together. Is there a better way?

Not All Leaders Have Titles

In this session we will delve into the misconception that leadership is conferred solely through titles, focusing on the roles of father, man, and husband. Drawing inspiration from biblical figures such as Moses, who initially resisted his calling, and Joseph, who endured hardship, we will dispel the notion that leadership is exclusive to those who feel inherently qualified. By examining stories like Gideon, Job, and others who initially doubted their leadership abilities, the presentation will underscore the transformative power of faith and obedience in shaping reluctant leaders. Through biblical examples, you’ll be encouraged as Christian men to embrace your roles with humility, recognizing that true leadership often emerges from unexpected sources and is grounded in a deep sense of faith and service.

Now What

During this session we will draw inspiration from Acts 1:6-11, the emphasis lies in catalyzing actionable faith. Beginning with the Great Commission (Matthew 28:18-20), the call to evangelize and make disciples globally is a focal point, with the urge to actively share your faith. James 2:14-26 reinforces the idea that faith without corresponding works is incomplete, encouraging tangible expressions of kindness, generosity, and service. Further, incorporating passages on spiritual gifts, the armor of God, perseverance, stewardship, and brotherhood provides a comprehensive roadmap which will guide you toward a purposeful and impactful Christian journey
