It is July 20 – reading Proverbs 20; pausing at verse 7: “The righteous man leads a blameless life; blessed are his children after him.” It is not just for the here and now that it is critical to build godly men. When these righteous men are gone from this earth, their children and grandchildren will live in their legacy. Will it be a legacy that is tainted by a lack of integrity or an honorable and blameless life that is a blessing!
Note that blameless does not mean perfect – but rather without blame or above reproach. More on this in chapter 3 of I Timothy 3 and Titus, chapter 1. Men don’t arrive out of the womb this way – we must be intentional to build righteous men who live a blameless life. It is not just about them, but about their children and their children’s children!
