Overlooking an Offense

October 19 – Proverbs 19

Let’s look for wisdom in Proverbs. Verse 11 of chapter 19 catches my attention: “Good sense makes one slow to anger, and it is his glory to overlook an offense.” Have you noticed that people can be offensive – and not always by accident? Overlooking an offense is different then forgiving.  Overlooking is making the conscious choice to actually not being offended. It does NOT signal weakness but rather meekness. Meek is being humble in manner or spirit; free from self-assertive pride.  *Glory is yours today if you choose to overlook an offense!

What other wisdom can we find in chapter 19?
