Mentors Needed! 

Much of Proverbs is simply Solomon mentoring younger men. In chapter 7, the mentor is urging his own son to keep far from the wayward woman who attempts to fill her deep emotional needs with random physical intimacy. The mentor offers wisdom that “will keep you from the adulterous woman, from the wayward woman with her seductive words.” verse 5. 

Is the young man in this chapter looking for trouble or is he simply a young man who is in the wrong place at the wrong time and is oblivious to the consequences? This is why mentors are needed! Older men who understand the consequences from their own personal experience and have gathered wisdom over the years. They can share a story and offer a warning and thus be a blessing to a younger man who has ‘ears to hear’.
