July 6 – Proverbs 6

WARNING!

It’s July 6th so let’s read chapter 6 of Proverbs. Wisdom can often come in the form of a warning. Proverbs is the Book of Wisdom and chapter 6 is full of warnings.  Verses 32-33; “But a man who commits adultery has no sense; whoever does so destroys himself. Blows and disgrace are his lot, and his shame will never be wiped away.”

‭‭Destroys himself – not destroyed by another. This is utter self destruction. Note that his shame will never be wiped away. Key words are shame and never.  Yikes! Adultery or simply sexual intimacy outside of marriage brings significant consequences!

Can the man who commits adultery be forgiven? Yes. Yes. In Christ – Yes!  But the lingering shame of his actions will impact him (self destruction) and his legacy (never wiped away). Heed the WARNING!    PRIVATE PROPERTY – KEEP OUT!

Consider reading the balance of chapter 6 for additional wisdom through warnings.
