October 12 – Proverbs 12  ‘Words Matter’

What we say and write and post matter today, but may also matter later. Verse 6 from Proverbs 12: “The words of the wicked are a deadly ambush, but the speech of the upright rescues them.” My words matter, whether they are verbal, in writing or logged seemingly forever on the internet. They may be an ambush and they might also rescue me. This would seem especially true with the various forms of social media. It only takes a few seconds to carelessly post something now that may ‘ambush’ me years down the road. That said, wise words may also rescue me and those I love and the mission that I value.
