Every translation of verse 20 is nearly identical.
“He who walks with wise men will be wise, But the companion of fools will suffer harm.”
Older men know and understand this – but younger men might miss it. This principle would have to be near the top of the list for anyone mentoring anyone. Always ask these questions:
– Who are you hanging with?
– What are they like?
– Where are they headed?
It’s not just about growing in wisdom, it’s about not ‘suffering harm’ in the many different ways that this can happen.
Question: Do I need to make any adjustments in my friendships?
