“The Ultimate Father” Part II

Hi Men – this is Brian Doyle and we are looking once again at The Ultimate Father.
What better example to look at then God the Father and his relationship with His Son

We looked at Matthew 3:17 last time….. “And a voice from heaven said, “This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased.”

‭‭The voice from heaven is from the Ultimate Father. He has something to say and He says it loud and He says it clear and He says it so that all can hear. ‬‬‬‬

He started with Identity – ‘This is my Son’.

but immediately He moves to unconditional love and how he FEELS about His son

Again… Matthew 3:17, “This is my Son, whom I love…..

This is not just a declaration but also a rather a verbal affirmation of His feelings for His Son.

Many of us dads tend to show our love by what we do, which is good, but these cannot and should not replace our heartfelt words of love, both written and especially spoken.

We think our kids know we love them because we practice what I call the 3 P’s
– Provision; we provide for them
– Protection; we watch over them
– Presence: we are present at their games, events, around them at home, etc

All these are good and even great and definitely necessary but they do not replace our words…

I remember hearing that Focus on the Family had…..

Our kids need to hear these words and see these written words from their fathers.

You can do this. Tell your kids today “I LOVE YOU!”
‭‬‬
Heavenly Father would You give each of us us courage to step up and step into this role and be the fathers who declare our love out loud one by one to each of our children. In Jesus’ Name, Amen

Now Go be a Dad, and we’ll see you next time……
